Changes of Cognitive and Motor Complex Function According to Time of Elderly With Dementia: A Pliot Study

Abstract
The research compared the change in multiple functions of cognition and motor of senior with dementia by conducting tracking evaluation on seniors with dementia who uses daycare center that provides professional occupational therapy programs.
The participant's group comprised of thirteen (13) seniors with mild dementia, and the ACLS (Allen Cognitive Level Screen), TUG (Times Up and Go Test), Gait speed test and Grip control assessments were conducted. We conducted a follow - up evaluation 6 months after participating in the program conducted by the day care center and, statistical analysis was performed on the results of pre - evaluation and follow - up evaluation. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS Ver. 24, Spearman's correlation analysis and Wilcoxon sign rank test were conducted. Statistical significance was set at 0.05.
TUG showed a significant decrease (p<.05) at the re-assessment after six months compared to the initial assessment.
However, the ACLS, Gait speed test, and grip control did not show any significant difference at the re-assessment after six months compared to the initial assessment (p>.05).
This research compared the change in multiple functions of cognition and motor of seniors with Dementia as the time pass to propose the basis for the protection and treatment of seniors with Dementia.
